Kicking off the training

Your training will begin with a friendly online orientation, where you’ll meet the team and other participants. After that, you’ll take part in a full day of in-person training in London, co-led by Julia Slay from Facilitation 101 and Yasodha and Kyra from Neuro Tribe UK. Together, they’ll introduce the core principles of trauma-informed facilitation, covering areas such as:

Setting the foundations

Online modules

After the first day of in-person training, you’ll continue learning through three two-hour online modules, completed on Zoom. These will deepen your understanding of trauma and its impact in group settings.

1. What is trauma (and how can we spot it)?

Day 2 in person

You’ll then come back together for a second day of in-person training. This session will focus on some of the more challenging aspects of group facilitation, including:

Facilitating difficult dynamics

Supervision and practice spaces

After the course, you’ll also have access to two 2-hour group drop-in sessions. These are designed to:

  • offer space to reflect on what you’ve learned

  • ask questions that come up as you begin applying your skills

  • talk through challenges or ideas around using the course content in your day-to-day work

The sessions will take place online and will be jointly facilitated by a member of the Facilitation 101 and Neuro Tribe UK teams.
